The Circle of Life
Yesterday we blessed Bridger. We had debated all week whether or not to wait a week because Rickie's aunt was not doing well. We got a call Tuesday afternoon that she may not make it
through the week. We went over Tuesday night (to Beaver) to see her and while we were there the hospice nurse said that she probably wouldn't make it through the night. She ended up dying Thursday morning at about 8:00. His family quickly planned the viewing and funeral and the services were on Saturday afternoon. The mortuarys in Beaver have been so busy the last week with 3 people from there being killed in a car accident last Monday morning while they were in California and then a couple of others dying from old age, etc. So we had a lot this last week. But, we figured we'd still bless him so family didn't have to make two trips. Rickie's older brother Ryan actually left right after they blessed the baby because they were worried about getting back to Salt Lake with the weather and then his twin brother was called to work (he plows snow for Cove Fort shed) about 5 minutes after. But they were there for the important part. And we had a nice breakfast with my mom and dad, little brother and sister and her husband and then Rickie's mom and dad, Grandma and Grandpa, little brother, his wife and family and his cousin.
Things like death really make me thankful for the belief we have that their is life after death and that we will all be together again.
Bridger was very good through his blessing and all day long. He got a little irritated after I took his outfit off and then remembered I had taken any pictures of him with just Brecken and Brigham and put it back on him, but he survived! (He wasn't happy in the pictures though!)
