Exciting Day in Beaver
Yesterday was the last day of the Beaver County Fair. Our niece Pazley was in a little pagent at 10 am so we decided to go over in the morning and watch her and then just stay for the derby where Rickie was part of his cousin and uncle's pit crew. So we got there just in time to see Pazley sing and Brookelle dance (she's Rickie's cousin's daughter and our kids love playing with her and her brother) and see their "evening wear" and interview. Brookelle won queen and Pazley got 2nd attendant (which is really good because she was completing in an age group above where she should have been.) So that was exciting! We hung around the fair grounds for awhile looking at exhibits (not near as good as Sevier county's!) had lunch, bought so watch bands to got with my new Bumbles watch, the kids got to play on all the bounce toys and play games which were all FREE!!!

I wish this picture would've turned out better :(
Later that afternoon, Rickie's grandparents, his mom and all of us went and saw a miniature donkey. It was soooo cute! I have wanted a baby donkey FOREVER but I didn't want it to get big, so this would be perfect! I told Rickie I wanted one for Christmas cause I thought is would look pretty cute in our backyard :) We'll have to see...they kids are on my side though! So that was exciting too!

After dinner we left to go back to the fair grounds (and the Grandmas said they'd keep the baby which was WONDERFUL! Too bad he wasn't) Right after we parked the car and were getting out we heard this big noise right by us and we looked over just in time to see the power pole slowly falling over! The water truck had backed into it and knocked it over. It was pretty cool to watch, but the power lines got pretty low and we knew the derby would be delayed. Luckily, the lines landed on a shed so they didn't hit the ground and nobody got hurt. That was REALLY exciting!

After the derby finally got started and we watched 3 rounds of mini cars races they finally got the real thing going. Rickie's cousing Nicholas was in this round and during the middle of it, one car hit another car in the rear end REALLY hard and the driver of that car got really hurt. They got the derby stopped and they ended up cutting the kid out of his car with THE JAWS OF LIFE and we went to the hospital in the ambulance. They thought he had a broken neck, but he ended up being okay. That's why you should wear a neck brace while driving in a derby! After a very long time they finally got it going again and little did we know, that was the first and last of the regular derby contest. They did a pro stock contest but there were only 3 contestants, Rickie's uncle Ross, his cousin, Nicholas and their cousin and nephew, Teft. They had a lot of fun out banging each other up! Ross came out the winner...it was his past experience! I think I laughed through the whole thing. The kids had a blast! After the derby we watch Eric Dodge preform a couple of songs (we want to get him to do the 24th concert next year) and he was really good. Our two kids and Pazley had a blast dancing! One of the Beaver County queen attendants were dancing with them and the newspaper guy was taking their pictures (Look for it Jeannie!) They loved it! But it was a pretty fun and EXCITING day!

Pazley is on the top right, Brookellle is on the top, 3rd from the right

I hate sitting by myself at the derbies, but it KILLS Rickie to sit in the stands.

They enjoyed their cotton candy!
Here is a clip of Eric Dodge, it's a little long, and it's hard to see cause it was dark and it lights were going everywhere, but he's good. This isn't one of his songs, but he has some really good ones.
